Active Duty Licenses: Texas active duty military personnel can hunt and fish in the state for free. That's coming up on Passport To Texas. Passport to Texas from Texas Parks and Wildlife. It's estimated that Texas has more than 120-thousand active-duty military personnel living in the state. And thanks to a recently passed legislative bill, all are eligible to hunt and fish in the state at no charge. "This year we have a new license for our armed forces on active duty. For the first time we will have a free Super Combo all package that will include all of the stamps, just like the regular Super Combo." Craig Richlen is the Revenue Director for Texas Parks and Wildlife. The new Texas Resident Active Duty Military "Super Combo" Hunting and All-Water Fishing Package will also be offered to active-duty members of the Reserves or National Guard. "It's not for retirees or anyone else who is not active duty." For a member of the military to qualify for a free "Super Combo," he or she must have continuously resided in Texas for more than six months before obtaining the license. You must show your military ID and a proof of residency to qualify for the complimentary license. Hunting and fishing licenses are available at over 2,000 locations throughout the state.
