Website: Navigating the information super highway is now easier on the Texas Parks and Wildlife website. We'll tell you more, coming up on Passport To Texas. Passport to Texas from Texas Parks and Wildlife. Chances are if you've ever needed to locate a state park, track down a hunting or fishing law, or learn about a particular native animal species, you've used the Texas Parks and Wildlife website. "We get almost half a million visitors every month, coming to our web site. All of these customers are very important to us-it's a very popular site." Darcy Bontempo heads up the marketing division at Texas Parks and Wildlife. To make the site more accessible, the agency has redesigned its Internet presence. "So what we began to do was undertake extensive user research, including surveys to understand what our web visitors needs and preferences were and usability studies to help design a new site architecture, that will make the site accessible and as easy to use as possible." Improvements include enhanced accessibility for seeing and hearing-impaired individuals. And users will be able download everything from fishing condition reports or state park information via a cell phone or PDA. "Well users will first off notice that the website has a new look. They will also notice that the website is organized now in very simple navigational choices that are grouped by topic such as fishing and boating, state parks, hunting and wildlife. The entire site is going to be greatly enhanced for accessibility." To see the new, redesigned website come to passporttotexas.org. For Texas Parks and Wildlife, I'm Cecilia Nasti.
