FULTON MANSION CAROLING: It's a coastal Christmas complete with caroling...details ahead on Passport to Texas ... ________________________________________________________ Passport to Texas from Texas Parks and Wildlife Get coastal this holiday season at Fulton Mansion. The stately home, built by George and Harriett Fulton in the late 1800's, overlooks Aransas Bay. And this Saturday (December 10) you're invited to partake in a night of caroling and holiday merry-making. "But before we start our singing, we are going to have a visit from George Fulton, who is going to read "The Night Before Christmas"." Marsha Hendrix, assistant director at the site, says a local historian and schoolteacher will play George Fulton for this evening of Victorian Texas fun. "After the caroling, we have refreshments at the back of the mansion where the garden is. It will be looking beautiful with lots of beautiful twinkly Christmas lights. And we have gingerbread and cider. Also, the first floor of the mansion will be open for tours to see the decorations. And it goes until about eight o'clock. So, we just think it's a lot of fun. It's a great way to start the Christmas holidays, and a lot of folks in our area have it as their regular, traditional Christmas outing that weekend." Tours will be offered at a reduced price for anyone interested in taking one. "People just love this mansion, they love the stories, they love getting to see it. And so it's a joy to get to show it off." Get all the details for this event on the calendar page of the Texas Parks and Wildlife web site. That's our show for today ...
