Passport to Texas from Texas Parks and Wildlife

If you live in the either the Prairies and Lakes
region or the Pinywoods region of the state, and
have your sites set on finding holiday events for
the entire family -- we can help.

It's all aboard the Texas State Railroad State Park's
Victorian Christmas Train, December 10 & 17. You'll
board the train in Palestine, and as you rumble down
the tracks, you'll enjoy food, songs, stories and of
course a visit from Old Saint Nick. It's $25-dollars
for adults, $10-dollars for children 5 to 13, and free
for children under five. Dates are subject to change,
and reservations are required.

If farm living is the life for you, step back in time and
celebrate a Candlelight Christmas at Barrington Living
History Farm State Historic site in Washington, Texas,
December 10. Experience a 19th Century Texas Christmas
through song, dance, food and special Christmas crafts,
from 1 to 8 p.m.

Whether you're interested in comestibles or caroling, On
December 10, Stephen F. Austin State Park has what
you're looking for. In the morning, from 8:30 to 10, enjoy
a pancake breakfast with Santa. It's just $3-dollars per
person. Then later in the day, from 6 to 8 p.m., join in on a
holiday hayride and caroling through the park. Cookies
and hot chocolate await you after your ride, and
admission is one canned good per person.

There's detailed information about these and other
events in the calendar section of the Texas Parks and
Wildlife website.
