STATE PARK CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT: Hear about a collectible holiday gift... on Passport to Texas ... _______________________________________________________ Passport to Texas from Texas Parks and Wildlife Christmas comes but once a year, and so does the State Park Christmas ornament; the 2006 edition is available now. "It has a little icon of Fort McKavett, and a little boat paddle, and a hiker, and a horned lizard. And just several things that are common throughout our park system." Bryan Frazier oversees marketing and promotions for state parks. These limited edition ornaments are brass plated, delicate, and very collectible. "And then we also have ornaments on site at individual parks. Places like Palo Duro, Bastrop and Beuscher State Park, and Casa Navarro - they all have ornaments themselves, just for their park." While the cost of the ornament is nominal, you can still get yours free. "Through December thirty-first you can get the oh-six ornament free, when you purchase a Texas State Parks Pass gift certificate. You get a little gift box, and a gift card with that." Check with your area park to see if they have ornaments available for purchase, or order yours over the phone from Texas Parks and Wildlife headquarters. "The customer service center has them that you can order over the phone. There's a shipping charge as well, but they're still really inexpensive - they're $4.25 plus tax -- and plus shipping, they end up being about six bucks." Call the customer service center at 512-389-8900 to order your 2006 State Park Christmas ornament, as well as past ornaments. That's our show for today ... For Texas Parks and Wildlife ...
