TRAIL OF LIGHTS: Get into the holiday spirit when you walk this trail of lights... details on Passport to Texas ... __________________________________________________________ Passport to Texas from Texas Parks and Wildlife Get into the holiday spirit this season when you traverse the quarter mile walking trail -- illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights -- at the Monument Hill/ Kreische Brewery State Historic Sites in LaGrange. "We're situated on top of a bluff overlooking the Colorado river. Overlooking the town of LaGrange." Texas Parks and Wildlife's Dale Martin. "So you have all of those lights off of the cliff. And we decorate this trail with all kinds of Christmas lights. And it's just a special atmosphere day or night up here - it really is. And at night it is especially beautiful with all those lights shining and the cold air. And we route this trail through the old Kreische house, which was built in 1855 through 57. We have coal oil lamps and candles. And most importantly we have a lot of home grown hospitality with a little Christmas cookies and punch, and entertainment. We'll have Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus for the kids, and all kinds of scheduled entertainment for the five nights we're going to be doing this." The event takes place December 9 & 10, and 16 &17. "The last two nights, on the 16th and 17th, we're going to have a choir, called A Chorous Sine Nomine, which is Latin for Choir Without a Name. And they sing a number of different languages, and they sing acapella, without any instrumentals. That choir is very popular." It's $3-dollars for adults, $1-dollar for children under 12.
