HOLIDAY ROUNDUP, 2: A snapshot of holiday events in Big Bend Country and The Panhandle Plains ... details ahead on Passport to Texas ... _________________________________________________________ Passport to Texas from Texas Parks and Wildlife Tis' the season ... and if you live in Big Bend Country or the Panhandle Plains, we'd like to suggest these holiday happenings: Ride the Wyler Aerial Tramway in El Paso to the top of Ranger Peak on December 17, 18 & 19, as well as December 22 &23. Rides are continuous from noon to 5 p.m. Santa will greet children and personally accept their wish lists. If you prefer to keep your feet planted firmly on the ground, then visit Fort Richardson State Park and historic site this month for your chance to visit a Victorian Santa. For a south of the border holiday hoedown, make plans to be at the Barton Warnock Environmental Education Center in Lajitas December 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. for Christmas on the Border. Celebrate west Texas style with Folklorico Dancers, Mariachis and the Community Choir. Finally, what holiday season is complete without the poinsettia? Get your fill all month long at Big Spring State Park where you'll see six giant metal poinsettias -- twenty feet wide and eight feet tall? That's a lot of holiday cheer. Witness these prodigious poinsettias and a giant Christmas Star ensconced in lights from dark until 10 p.m. As always, find detailed information about these and other events in the calendar section of the Texas Parks and Wildlife website. That's our show ... For Texas Parks and Wildlife ... I'm Cecilia Nasti.
