On June 10, the staff at Kickapoo Cavern SP in Brackettville will take visitors on a morning nature walk and program throughout the park in search of migrating birds and endangered species like the black-capped vireo. Reservations required. [canoe paddling] Love being on the water? Then come to Inks Lake SP in Burnet for a canoeing clinic. Intended for first-time boaters, the clinic will focus on the basics of paddling, steering and stabilizing the canoe. It's offered throughout the month, and reservations are required. Contact the park for days, times and fees. Every Saturday and Sunday this month, Colorado Bend SP in Bend, offers guided tours to Gorman Falls, a 65-foot waterfall in a beautiful Hill Country setting. This is a scenic, 1-1/2-mile round-trip hike that can be challenging, so know your limitations. Contact the park for details. [bats emerging] And, Wednesdays through Sundays, Devil's Sinkhole SNA is the place to be if you love bats. Peer down into the depths of Texas and observe up to 3 million bats emerge.
