Falcon SP's falcon lake is known for it's bass fishing 
opportunities. 

We do a tournament every year to promote the fishery, water 
recreation activities and family fun that can be had by all ages 
on Falcon Lake. :11

Peggy Umphres, with the Zapata Chamber of Commerce, 
coordinates the annual Falcon Lake Hall of Fame Big Bass 
Tournament. Beacon's Lodge in Zapata is the staging area 
for the event, scheduled for June 30 to July 2; more than 
ten thousand dollars in cash and prizes will be awarded.

The tournament is open to anglers of all ages; we also have a 
women's division. We do not allow professionals or guides to 
fish in the big bass tournament, however, simultaneously we 
have a guide's tournament which does allow the professional 
anglers and guides to fish. However, they have to take along 
two amateurs, and these have to be women. They actually fish 
with them, but the guides are not allowed to assist them in any 
way in catching fish. :32

In addition, the first members will be inducted into the 
Falcon Lake Hall of Fame.

These are candidates who have contributed to the development, 
the preservation and the enjoyment of the fishery on Falcon 
Lake. :07
