TPWD TV - TRAINING ACADEMY: See what game warden cadets go through ... hear about it on Passport to Texas ... ____________________________________________________________ Passport to Texas from Texas Parks and Wildlife If you ever thought about becoming a game warden, Texas Parks and Wildlife TV series writer/producer, Ron Kabele says tune into the show this month and see what's involved. Oh, this is one of the coolest segments I've ever worked on. It's all about the Game Warden Academy. And we started on the very first day, on their very first run. And they were scared, and they were really out of shape. So, we videotaped this drill instructor - her name is Cynda Brooks; she was incredible. And she'd be on these people's tail: go ... go ... go ... go ... run ... run ... run ... run ... It scared me. I can't imagine how they felt. And then we followed them for the next six months. We'd go back every two or three weeks. One week we got them capturing alligators. And see, they didn't know there were going to be real alligators there. We got some pretty good reaction shots of people who did not want to be there. But that's a big part of what they do. And, it sure did give me a new respect for what it is that they do. Whether it's capturing alligators, or apprehending criminals who are stealing fish. They do a lot. And a lot of it is very dangerous work. :61 Check your local television listings to find out where and when the show airs in your town. That's our show for today ... thank you for joining us.
