LAKE TEXANA SP: Where is the best kept State Park secret in the lone star state? We'll tell you on Passport to Texas. Passport to Texas from Texas Parks and Wildlife Life is better outside, and what better way to enjoy what nature has to offer by visiting a Texas state park. These reserved areas are dedicated to provide education and recreation to the general public. And for twenty five years, Lake Texana has been doing just that. David Lopez is park Superintendent, and tells us why he believes park enthusiasts keep coming back to this outdoor hideaway in Edna, Texas. Lake Texana State Park is abundant in wildlife. We have lots of different types of mammals and reptiles, birds that come into our park coves. It's just a great getaway, especially here in our area. We get a lot of the visitors that come through heading south. We like to tote ourselves as the best kept state park secret in Texas. The park, halfway between Houston and Corpus Christi, is a quick trip for a weekend retreat. Catering to a variety of interests, you are sure to find entertainment while spending time outdoors at Lake Texana. Of course, being located on the lake we have our fishing activities. We have boating, water skiing, sailing. We offer canoes, kayaks, and hydro-bikes for rent inside the park cove. We have lots of trees, campsites, just an array of different activities here in the park. You can find more information about the Lake Texana State Park on the Texas Parks & Wildlife website.
