EXPO, 1: A weekend of outdoor activities for all abilities ... details on Passport to Texas ... ____________________________________________________________ PTT from TPWD and the SFWR Program Pack up the kids and come to Austin this weekend for the fifteenth annual Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo ... "Expo is sort of the equivalent of the state outdoor fair of Texas." Ernie Gammage is Expo director. Although the free, two- day event takes place at Parks and Wildlife headquarters in Austin, it's not just for locals. "It's really for all the people of the state; and we get people from out of state, as well, that come and want to learn how to recreate in the outdoors." It's important to know that outdoor recreation isn't off limits to people with physical disabilities. Come to Expo and find out how anyone can recreate in the outdoors. "We have what I consider to have a great accessible services program at Expo. For those people who are physically challenged in any way, we can help you do two things. One, navigate expo so that you can enjoy it whether it's a presentation or an activity. And then two, come to understand that there are ways that you can do just about anything in the outdoors, regardless of whether or not you have a disability." The Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo happens this weekend, October 7 & 8, from nine to five both days. You'll find all the Expo information you need when you visit the Texas Parks and Wildlife web site. Tomorrow: getting the most out of your Expo experience. That's our show for today ... sponsored by the Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration Program ... working to increase shooting, hunting fishing and boating opportunities in Texas ...
