Passport to Texas from Texas Parks and Wildlife

Mountain biking has gained a reputation as an 
exhilarating outdoor sport for intrepid Texans. And 
Cedar Hill State Park, just outside Dallas, offers riders 
two-wheeled adventure.

The DORBA trail is our mountain bike trail and the Dallas Off 
Road Bike Association, or DORBA, maintains that trail. They have 
routed the trail and they upkeep the trail. :09

We have flat terrain, we also have hilly terrain. Mountain bikers 
like that variety when they ride, and the trail that we have (we 
have fifteen miles) is an intermediate trail. It doesn't really start 
out at beginner. They'll go through a wooded area that's hilly, 
and then they'll come out on a prairie which we have here as well, 
which is unique. :15

You're invited to join fellow cyclists this Saturday on the 
scenic Dam Mountain Bike Tour.

We are a core of engineer lake, and so the dam is pretty close to 
where we're located. There's a trail that goes up to the dam, so 
we'll take a short ride on the trail that leads to the dam. Then, 
we'll meet up with someone from the core of engineers who will 
give us a history about the dam, about the area, when the dam 
was built, and then we'll ride across the dam. :19

The tour starts at nine on Saturday and lasts two hours. 
Reservations are required. Bring sunscreen, water, and 
your helmet. Trails close after it's rained so call ahead to 
check the weather.
