I'm getting into the spirit of the holidays here. I'm reading Carol 
Flake Chapman's article about state parks and historic sites. 
And there are some really great things going on for the 
holidays. You know, I'm thinking that I better get my state park 
guide out here and see if I can make it to all these things, 
because we're covering all of what we'd call typical Christmas 
events, and one of the things that caught my attention is at the 
Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill. They have a project of 
creating a genuine German historic Christmas tree. And then, at 
the Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park, they have a 
candlelight Christmas celebration, and then, going down to 
Fanthorpe Inn State Historical site, they have a Christmas 
festival there where the big Percheron horses are pulling the 
stagecoach. And then I'm thinking I want to get down to the 
Mission Espiritu Santo, at Goliad State Historical Park, because 
they have Christmas performances there in the restored 
mission. And then, something that really knocks me out is this 
caroling in the cave at Longhorn Cavern State Park. So, we really 
have some great ideas for getting into the holiday spirit. :60
