Celebrate Yuletide Texas aboard Battleship Texas -- a historic WWII ship - docked in LaPorte. Christmas was a special time for the sailors and officers who served aboard Battleship TEXAS. Visit throughout the month to see the vessel adorned with lights, ornaments and decorations in the spirit of the season. If you like your Christmas in the wide open spaces, maybe you'd enjoy Big Spring state park's offering - Poinsettias in the Park. Visit this panhandle plains site and see six large metal poinsettias -- 20 feet wide and 8 feet tall -- wrapped in Christmas lights, placed on the edge of the 200-foot bluff at the northern limit of the Edwards Plateau in the park. Yeah, it's a little strange but very twinkly.... The Barton Warnock Environmental Education Center celebrates Christmas on the Border on December 19. Celebrate the holiday season in West Texas border fashion. Local community performers will provide the entertainment; refreshments and treats will be served and a special visit by Santa Claus will delight the children. The festivities go from 6:30 to 9pm.
