TOM KNAPP'S MEMORABLE MOMENT: You never know what "the shooting star," Tom Knapp, has up his sleeve ... details on Passport to Texas Outdoor Stories Passport to Texas Outdoor Stories from TP and Wildlife Tom Knapp, a world-renowned exhibition shooter, has been performing for crowds since 1987. At EXPO 2006, we had the opportunity to ask the "Shooting Star" about one the most memorable moments of his career. One of the most memorable moments I've had really doesn't pertain to a live show, it pertains to a TV show that I was a guest on. The professional fisherman, Bill Lance, he's got a national fishing show. I was fishing with him, and he didn't know it and it was not on the script, but I had my 22 rifle- I shoot a 22 Magnum. He knew that I was going to shoot various objects from mid-air, like apples, potatoes, oranges, and even an aspirin tablet, but Bill did not know that I was going to ask him to cast his Stripe-King lure and try to hit a stump in the water with it at 30 yards distance. Bill didn't want to turn the cameras down, and so he thought he'd run it off-the-cuff. He just played along, and he didn't know what I was going to do. And so when I asked him 'How close you can cast your lure to that stump?,' he says 'Well watch this!,' and I said 'I'm watching!' And as he prepared for the cast, I grabbed the rifle, came along side of him, and when he casted the lure to the stump, I shoot the lure out of mid-air before it could get to the stump ...
