Mosquito Management Around the Home Start Date: Immediately End Date: September 30, 2016 Contact: Ben Hutchins, (512) 389-4975 Managing Mosquitoes Around the Home Summer is a great time to be outdoors, but mosquitoes can put a damper on your fun. They can spread viruses like West Nile and Zika. But you can do something about it. Mosquitoes need stagnant water to breed. By getting rid of all stagnant water in your outdoor spaces-such as in gutters and planters-and cleaning and changing the water in birdbaths weekly, you limit mosquitoes' breeding locations, and maximize your outdoor enjoyment.
